BHS Graduation 2008 Video Available for $17

Berkeley Community Media taped the Berkeley High Graduation 2008 with multiple cameras, located from the stage to the hill above, so you won't miss anything. They are offering the DVD for the low price of $17, and that includes tax and shipping! You can email BCM mailto:info@betv.org or call (848-2288) and let them know that you want to order a DVD. They are jut finishing the editing, and need an idea of how many copies they should have produced, so your orders now will be helpful. Note: They also have copies of the two previous years available for the same price.

Great news for Junior parents: Berkeley Community Media is working with local businesses to develop funding so that next year every senior could receive the DVD for free! Let's wish BCM's new Executive Director David Jolliffe luck on this. He has developed a good plan that makes sense for the businesses he is talking to.

August 3: Colleges that Change Lives Panel Discussion and College Fair

12 noon, South San Francisco Conference Center, 255 South Airport Blvd.,
South Francisco; OR 5:00 pm, Walnut Creek Marriott, 2355 North Main Street, Walnut Creek.

Colleges That Change Lives, a group of 40 small liberal arts colleges named by Loren Pope in his book of the same name, is holding their annual national tour in August, including two events in the Bay Area. Their goals are to help students find colleges that fit with their needs and values.

The program begins with a half-hour panel presentation on the college search and how to find the right fit for each student. Following the presentation, representatives from each of the colleges present will be available at a one and a half hour college fair. The event is free and no pre-registration is necessary.

We encourage families of rising juniors and seniors to attend this event to find out more about these excellent, but not always well-known, schools, as well as the admissions process in general. For more information, go to http://www.ctcl.com.
