BHS Alternative Programs
For the year 2008-2009

BERKELEY ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL (BAHS) 2701 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way. Provides students with the opportunity to participate in a rigorous academic program that encourages the pursuit of School-to-Career-Pathways while meeting all requirements for a high school diploma. BERKELEY INDEPENDENT STUDY PROGRAM offers an academically challenging alternative to the traditional classroom setting. Students enroll in 3 to 4 year long block classes each semester and meet weekly with each of their subject teachers. They are expected to spend 10 hours per week per subject studying independently. During weekly meetings, students receive individual instruction, get assignments and review completed work with their teachers. For more information, call 644-8592.
